The Gri Gri is an excellent piece of kit designed to replace the standard belay device in your set up. It has a cam installed next to the rope so as soon as you release the opening leaver it locks down on the rope completely, just think of it like a car seat belt. It is particularly suited to indoor and sport routes though can be used in many other situations.
